Window Screen Cleaning Tip

How clean are your window or patio door screens? Have you ever cleaned them? I tumbled upon this way to clean screens totally by accident.

Have you met Toby? He is our Wheaten Terrier and sometimes ornery. He loves to sneak by me when I am unloading the dryer and snatch the dryer sheet and totally tear it to bits! Sometime ago he had a dryer sheet and was preparing to tear it up, and I happened to be deciding how to clean a patio door screen. I grabbed the dryer sheet from Toby and wiped it across the screen. OMGosh! I looked at the dryer sheet and it was filled with dirt.
Amazing, I know!

So clean and bright!
All from a cheap dryer sheet.

I have used both and they both seem to work the same. Thanks for the question!

I was so excited I had to try it, then I decided an easier way is to use a Swiffer Duster stick. It's so much faster and easier if you have a large porch.

Toby is cute, right? The slip covers are from Pottery Barn. They have been washed many times. The cushion covers I made, just so they can be washed by themselves and the little arm covers are actually napkins I found someplace.

We have very hard water here and it leaves water spots on my chrome fixtures. Used dryer sheets are great for shining the chrome in your kitchen and bathroom. Water spots just vanish.

Barbara, what a great tip! I can't wait to try it, who knew dryer sheets had so many uses.
